In his welcome address, Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Bahwan emphasised the alignment of BYD’s innovative solutions with Oman Vision 2040, which prioritises sustainable development. He highlighted BYD’s leadership in NEV technology, citing the brand’s revolutionary Blade Battery as a key differentiator. This lithium-iron-phosphate innovation delivers unparalleled safety and performance, with over two million units in operation worldwide.
Later in the evening Mr. A D Huang, General Manager, BYD Middle East and Africa Auto Sales Division spoke about BYD’s two monumental milestones – 30 years of innovation and the historic production of the 10 millionth new energy vehicle, an achievement that positions the brand as the first automaker in the world to reach this remarkable feat. From a modest beginning to a global leader with nearly 1 million employees, this accomplishment reflects BYD’s steadfast dedication to advancing technology and sustainable energy solutions. He also highlighted BYD’s strengths that demonstrate a relentless pursuit of technological excellence to create a better, more sustainable future. These strengths include a team of over 110,000 engineers driving innovation and an average of 44 patent applications daily, 18 of which are already granted.
