Recently, at an exclusive event held at the Toyota showroom at Wattayah, Saud Bahwan Automotive unveiled the all-new Toyota Camry. The event was attended by H.E. Jota Yamamoto, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Shunsuke Chijiiwa, Deputy Chief Representative of Dubai Office at Toyota Motor Corporation and distinguished guests from both the public and private sectors.
Speaking at the occasion Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Bahwan, Managing Director – Corporate, Saud Bahwan Group said, “For decades, Toyota has been the brand of choice for families in Oman. Later in the evening Mr. Shunsuke Chijiiwa, Deputy Chief Representative of Dubai Office at Toyota Motor Corporation, sharing his thoughts about Toyota Motor Corporation and Saud Bahwan Group’s journey as partners said, “Toyota Motor Corporation has a very long relationship with Saud Bahwan Automotive, for more than 50 years since 1975. They are one of the most important partners among the all the distributors in the world. That’s why, the late Honorary Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, Dr. Shoichiro Toyoda and his son and current Chairman Mr. Akio Toyoda have visited Oman and deepened their personal relationship with Bahwan family, which is not always the case with other distributors.”
Expressing his thoughts about the all-new Toyota Camry he said, “As a part of such production strategy, our brand-new product, Camry is going to be launched today in Oman. I’m very honoured to be able to participate in such an exciting event. I can see so many Camry on the road in Oman and from that, I can feel that our Camry has been cherished in Oman for long time. With this model change, we have improved the design, driving performance and other aspects, so I believe that all of you will enjoy the new generation Camry.”
Later in the evening customers went around experiencing the all-new Camry and what makes this vehicle stand out.
The all-new Camry offers two powertrain options: a 2.5-litre four-cylinder in line VVTi – engine producing 201 hp and 240 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed Direct-Shift Multi-mode automatic transmission, and the Camry HEV with an electrified hybrid system that combines a petrol engine and two electric motors, delivering a combined power of 226 hp. The hybrid version is paired with an Electrically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT), providing an exceptional driving experience.
